Thumbs up Hello from a Computer User
My name is Vic Hickok (yes, Wild Bill is my 5th Cousin 5th removed!). I started in computers in the 1970's with Vic-20, Commodore 64, TRS-80P, then IBM Clones using DOS 2. I watched WIN 3.1 come and go. I saw WIN 95 come and go. I have now seen WIN 98/ME/NT do the same. I now use WIN XP but suspect its life is about to change also!

I use the computer for Family History research and recording of data. I use programs such as Legacy 7.0, PAF 5, and the likes. I use the internet to search sites such as Ancestry.com, FamilySearch, MyFamily.com, Rootsweb and a number of other sites.

I am glad to see a sight such as this, for the Computer has become very complicated with the advent of Windows technology. It is so different than using Machine Language (0 & 1's).

I am college educated in Virtual Basic, Pascal, Cobal, C++, Fortran, Dbase IV, and the likes. (All before Windows).

Thanks for letting me join this site.

Smile RE: Hello from a computer user
Thank you for the Welcome.
I see you post a Canadian Flag. I love Canada, been just into Canada (over the Rainbow Bridge, Niagra NY and also over Thousand Islands Bridge. Quite an experience with gas sold by liter or Imperial Gallon!
