I'm not familiar with knoppix but you might want to give a little more info for some one to be able to help.
1 type of modem?
2 what have you tried so far?
3 are you getting any specific error messages?

Knoppix is like Linux and it runs of right off the CD so I dont have to install everything.
Im not sure what kind of modem I have, but I know its a winmodem
And my Brother tried it before, and he couldnt get it to work, so I don't know if he got any error messages

No sprechen Sie Deutsch
I just tried checking their web site but most of it is in German and unfortunately I dont speak german,
If you're running the os off the cd drive are you able to do any system configuration? can you install other software or just what comes on the cd?
you may have to simply replace you're modem with one that is supported by Knoppix.
good luck

Knoppix is a live-on-CD evaluation version of Linux. It's loaded to memory on a ramdisk and its meant to evaluate Linux so connecting to the internet isnt going to happen. Here's the english page for Knoppix. Also look at www.crouse.ws for some more info.
You'd wouldnt get connected with a winmodem,anyway.
