networking old systems
I have a P4-1.7 , three 486 and two 286 machines
the 486 ones have a harddisk , whereas the 286 ones do not have one.

i want to make the P4 a linux server , that helps the 486 machines to logon and get services , including file services.

the 286 machines need to be remote booted , i mean as thin clients without a harddisk ,
i read some books , but the how to's were very vauge .

i know some linux , networking
i have some network cards .

plz give me deailed instructions on gettiing this whole network up and running.

Forget the 286s-the minimum CPU requirement for Linux is a 386.The rest is possible. What is this network being set up for?
