Guess what!! On reading the articles in the old PCQ issue again, I came across a small paragraph wherein they have mentioned how to make a Linux Bootable floppy from the Linux bootable CD that they have given!! And all this while, I was struggling because I thought I will have to re-install Linux everytime my bootable floppy goes bad!!

Anyway, let me not get too excited about this till I try it out. Shall get back with my experience.

Just like the programs available to create bootable Windows floppies, there are sites from which you can download the programs to create bootable Linux floppies. I havent tried any though, but just FYI that such sites exist

Bootdisks - All OS

Linux Bootdisks

Put the 1st linux cd in the drive while you have win98 running.Open Explorer and go to the cd drive and open the dosutils folder and double-click the rawrite icon. When it asks for the image type:
d:\images\boot.img
Hit enter
When ask for the destination drive type a:
Hit enter, and it should make a bootdisk and let you know if it was successful.
The d:\images\boot.img depends on your cd drive letter and the exact name of the image folder and the boot image name. You can find that by browsing.
