Cool Downloading driver(s)
Anyone know where I can download drivers for trackballs and mice, which will work in Mandrake 9?

With mice, it should autodetect and install drivers.
If it doesnt, you need drivers for the specific models. Just google "MODEL Linux Drivers"

You've never said wether or not this trackball is serial,ps/2 or usb.Just go to hardrake and treat it like a regular mouse-all Linux needs to know is what kind of connector it has.Try the generic (serial, wheel, usb, etc.) mouse, unless you have already.

re: Hardrake & Mouse configuration
When I click on HardDrake, it only shows a table of things I have, but I can't tell how to make changes. If I click on a component, it only shows another line (I think driver[s] for that item). But, I can't tell how to make changes.

Try connecting the trackball and rebooting;it may detect it during the boot up.If you lose mouse control because it needs the same connection(ps/2 serial?)you can tab your way out to reboot.
