Most web servers do run UNIX. NT is more expensive and I think more complicated.

yah, expense is big diff. but many unix are $$$ sun, ibm etc.
I use both ... though I prefer *N*X. in fact I only have one windows install left at home. that 's my laptop and that's because I need it for work....

I don't like Billy G's business practices, but I still like my Win98 SE.
I am going to be playing with Redhat 8 soon I hope, but not sure it will put M$ out of business soon!

agreed
I use xp pro and 2k at work.
I have only one linux install left too. RedHat on my Laptop
Everything else is now freebsd. I really like it a lot. Turned all linux installs to FBSD at work and everything permanent at home is FBSD as well. Far more organized than Linux. Also better tested before each release. Been around much longer than redhat and mandy and they are still on release 4.7 With development on 5.0 and won;t call 5 stable til 5.2 or 5.3.

It'd be ridiculous running IIS with all the worms out there hunting for it.I guess people with sense use Apache
