Did you have Lilo set up to boot Mandrake by default? If so Lilo is looking for the bootloader which is on the 5GB hdd.
Use the pvc9 method to clear things up.It's the 1st link under my signature.

You can copy drive contents a number of ways. You might check any diskettes/CDs that came with your drive; several manufacturers provide drive copy utilities (Maxtor, for example). You can also use Linux to copy a Linux installation to a different drive using the dd command and the information supplied by the (Linux) fdisk command (primarily, partition sizes). If you prefer to copy the files but not necessarily create an image, you can also use the find and cpio commands under Linux (assuming that you have prepared the destination drive with Linux filesystems). If you haven't done a lot of customization, you may find that installing (again) on your new location is just as easy (if a bit more time-consuming).

Hope this helps.

Save a copy of your /home/username directory so you have your stuff after install.
