VI in Red Hat 8.0 ?
Does Red Hat 8.0 has VI ??? It gave me default VIM in Red Hat terminal, and I do not know most of the commands. I am looking for a pure VI, does anyone knows how should I switch it to VI instead of VIM ?

Thanks in advanced.

VIM=VI Improved.
There are a lot of commands in vi but you can create and edit files with just a few:
"vi filename" to open a file
"i" to switch to insert mode to edit text
"esc" to switch to command mode
"ZZ"or":wq" to save and quit

You might look for elvis (no, not Elvis! ) on your system. This is another vi clone that is closer to vi than vim (IMHO). Another possibility is stevie (an acronym for Simply Try this Editor for VI Enthusiasts) -- also another vi clone. If you don't have these, they are widely available on the internet.

Hope this helps.
