Dual Boot Partition Size
Hi guys:

One of my systems at home is in need of a reload of Windows. I have a 12 GB HDD that I would like to partition so I can load Red Hat on to do a dual-boot. My question is - how would you recommend I set up the partitions? The minimal size for Linux would be preferred, as I'm only going to load it so I can teach myself.

I'll be loading 98SE on the primary partition.

Thanks!

Partition 8 GB for win98 and leave the rest for Linux as unallocated free space. The Red Hat installer will see your win98 partition and the free space.Choose the option(s) to preserve windows and use the free space for Linux.

Ha! That's what I did!

Glad to know that is what was recommended. Pretty cool that RH will "see" the Windoze partition and "preserve" it.

As soon as I reload all this junk I'll tackle the dual-boot.

Thanks.
