mandrake 9.0 install
i am trying to install mandrake 9.0 and ,i could not install it from cdrom so i had to use a floppy disk (boot disk ) .When the computer boots from floppy disk and try to install the linux but afet checking the hardware and devices on my computer and after checking partition ,it will stop checking partition hda
so what is the problem ????

What kind of computer?
What brand and size hard drive?

This site lists someHowTos for the Presario 900 series of laptops.The 905EA howto claims it will work with most laptops in the 900 series.
If the installer doesnt see your cd drive then how are you installing Mandrake?Did you buy it or download the iso files?
I'm a bit confused here.If you are booting the installation routine from a floppy,at some point in the installation it's going to ask either what kind of installation you plan to perform(CD,network etc) or it will just ask for the first CD.
Explain where you got Mandrake from and tell us what happens when you try to boot from the CD.Did you perform the recommended BIOS tweaks before you started?:
1.Set first boot device to cdrom
2.Disable Plug and Play.

finally worked ...there was problem with burning the cd that i downloaded from the ftp server
