Resizing Partition Question
When(if) I get linux, I'll have to resize my current windows partition if I want to do a dual boot. I got about 16 GB free so it shouldn't be much of a problem. Here's the thing, when I defrag my C drive it lists some files near the end of the partition as unmovable, with this limit how large my linux partition could potentially be? By resizing does it endanger the unmovable files, whatever they may be, on my windows partition?

I attached a screenshot of what it shows before I defrag.

It should be okay.Get Mandrake 9.1 as it's the only distribution at present that re-sizes NTFS partitions. If you just want to check out Linux you only need 3-4 GB of space.
Alternatively, you can get Knoppix and run it from a CD.You can check it out 1st without doing anything to your hard drive.
