Installing Redhat Linux 9
I installed Linux 9, and when I finished and booted it up, it asked me for a login and I typed in root, then the root password that I chose during the setup. After I did that I could get to the desktop. I typed in everything, can you give me some knowledge?!

Take a look here .
First you need to create a regular user account to protect you from....well,yourself. Being root all the time is not a good idea.Use the root account only for system administration and configuration.Read this to create a user.
Did you login at a graphical login screen?
