Can I install a 2nd PCU? Obviously its possible, but where do I start? (I guess Ive already started. LOL) 2 smiles for 2 CPUs

Linux supports dual cpu's but it is not a requirement. You could purchase a dual processor board, but most programs are not capable of using the extra processor and unless you are running a server, heavy duty photo editing software that is dual processor capable, its a waste of money.
What happens if you ignore the message?

Nothing happens. But I was wondering what would happen if I had a dual processor. You've answered my question. It would be a waste of money. Thanks for the info. I appreciate it. And now I know why it would be used. Thanks.

The Knoppix kernel is compiled with smp support so as to cover as many configurations as possible. There is a nosmp boot parameter but theres little benefit from it.
