this is the whole thing of mine, but the error at the end :
exeve failed /ect/xll/x C (errno 2)
giving up
xinit: No such file or director (errno 2)
unable to connect to X Server
xinit: No such process (errno 3)
server error
It sounds like X-windows cannot find the files it is looking for. Try the following (from the command line):
ls -l /etc/X11
ls -l /usr/X11R6
Note that if startx (or similar) is really trying to execute /ect/X11/X it probably should be trying to execute /etc/X11/X (and so a typo may be the only problem). Also, as root, try the command: type X and review the output. You should see something like the following:
ROOT: 11 /var/qmail/alias-> type X
X is /usr/X11R6/bin/X
If you don't, then the PATH for the root (and possibly other) users may be incorrect.
Hope this helps -- additional info appreciated.
