What did I do???
Hello,

I have installed Mandrake 9.1 a couple of weeks back and having a blast learning to use it. I have set up urpmi for main, updates, plf and texstar. However, after I updated the sources via software sources manager, all my power pack cd sources have disappeared. I do remember they were all enabled, but what happened to them? Where did they go? Will I still be able to install and update my packages from the cds? I have attached a screenshot to help you help me. Oh, one more thing. It's more of an annoyance rather than a problem. I can't seem to apply the widget style to the Mandrake control center's windows. I am using KDE 3.1 and the Geramik style. If anyone can give a pointer or two, I will appreciate it very much.

Grrr...why didn't my attachment show???

lynch,
Can you repost that attachement? I can't seem to view the image.

soup4you2,
Yes, gkrellm is much better than the other monitoring utility(kslim). Seeing that this is my second week using linux, I have so much more to learn and when the time's right, I will have to hunt you down and ask you how to monitor multiple boxes

Apparently the TSG mod(s) deleted it for some reason I wasnt notified/scolded or anything so I guess they feel it's okay to edit replies for size of graphics too.
Let's see if this sticks.

lynch,

I dunno if it's it my browsers or the mods, but when I click on your attachment, I get an invalid attachment notice. You have got my curiosity at attention. If you like, please email it to me.

I have in fact solved my disappearing CD sources dilema. Seems like there might have been some redundancy with downloading the main source with the Installation CDs, but what I did was removed all the sources and readded them.

As far as the theme not appling to the Mandrake Control Center, I have learned that it uses the GTK and not Qt. And I didn't install the Gnome Workstation and removed everthing (except dependencies) related to Gnome. Installed Gnome, and whalla! Presto, chango, got the theme, well as close as it comes, to apply itself to MCC.

BTW, poopsmith can't shovel poop on STRONG BAD!

Use X11 Forwarding though SSH.

lovely little option..

here's some info about SSH if you need it..
http://bsdhound.com/modules.php?name...article&sid=74

the way you do it is easy..

-n = Execute a command on the remote machine
-X = X11 Connection Forwarding..

so

ssh -X -n HOSTNAME /usr/local/X11R6/bin/gtkrelm

then the application on the other box gets put on the screen of the box your currently on
