I have an IBM Thinkpad 760EL which has interchangable CDROM and Floppy. So this means I can't have both at the same time and I can't boot with my CDROM.
I had Windows 98 on it but I want to learn Linux so I reformatted the computer so now there is nothing on there and I can't do anything with it. I downloaded a copy of Slackware Linux and burnt the image onto a CD-RW like the site said to do.
I'm not sure how to even install Linux at all, but I was hoping someone would know how to install it on Thinkpad since it will be that much harder with only either the Floppy or CDRom at a time.
I was thinking maybe get some sort of bootdisk and boot up the computer with till I get the A:> command promt then switching the floppy drive for the CDRom drive and then putting in the Linux cd and installing like that somehow.......Anyone think this will work or does anyone have experience with this???
I would love to get Linux on this computer since it is older and good for nothing else thought I would use it to learn another OS on, but if worst comes to worst does anyone know how to get windows 98 installed back onto it so I can try to install Linux through windows?. . . . Any Help Is Appreciated
