Angry SAMBA - creating directories on vfat partition
Okay 2 books and 5 days later and I cannot get a working vfat partition on my RH 8 Linux box to save my life.

All the books run off into config. issues with the assumption that the directories are allready created.

I have to share out 33 directories on Monday and I'm ready to heave the @%^@# thing through the window!

This has to be a no-brainer, so if somebody could stop laughing and start typing I would be _so_ pleased!!!

Honestly, I'm going nuts on this!

Oh, and lest my manners in my distress be forgotten: T.I.A.

Are you trying to build a VFAT partition on your Linux box to share directories from there? Are you trying to share out directories from another system using samba? A little more info would help.
If you are building vfat directories to share with a windows box you don't need to. When you samba share the directories it doesn't matter what tye of partition it is on.
