RH9 Partitioning problem
I want to install RedHat9 on my 30 Gb harddisc, where WinXP allready are installed.

I have 3 partitions in XP (2 ntfs and 1 fat), and I have left 7,5 Gb unused space for RH9.

RH9 install-program finds all these (including the free space) fine, but when I try automatic partitioning, it does not work. There comes a message about no space.

Now I try to make some partitions manually with DRUID. The start screen looks something like:

/dev/hda1 (XP C: -ntfs)
/dev/hda2 (XP Extended partion)
/dev/hda5 (XP logical -ntfs) why 5?
/dev/hda6 (XP logical -fat)
Free Space 7600 Mb

Now I can only make 2 new partitions: hda3 and hda4, even though I don't use all the space.

Whats the problem? Why the jump from 2 to 5?
Why can I only make 2 new?
Why can't I use automatic?

problem solved
Apparently the space left free for RH can't be totally free!!
I had left total free space, -not in any extended drive, and not formatted.

But when I changed the setup in XP, so that the free space was IN the existing extended partition, then there was no problems!

-Anybody who knows why it is so?
