old Sgi crimson
We are having an old SGI crimson Elan machine - recently we encountered a ethernet port problem with the IO4 board and we changed the same. This resulted in change of sysid and hence all our applications which are node locked failed to get activated. Does anyone know how to change the sysid (ethernet id) of the SGI Crimson Elan server working in IRIS 5.3 (with a R4K) processor?

I am totally shooting in the dark on this, I have no experience with SGI's elan's, but I have changed MAC's on NIC's before to get flexlm working.

On a linux box you would use the command

ifconfig eth0 hw addr ether 00:00:00:00:00:00 or whatever the MAC is that you wanted.

Do you have a similar command on this SGI box?

I hope that helps,

ed
