Angry RedHat 9 and Webmin
Hey guys and gals,

I have installed a standard Redhat 9 server along with webmin version 1.0, for some reason when using webmin its very very slow, i was using Redhat 7.3 before and it was fast, well normal 10/100 speed...

Does anyone have any ideas????

Thanks heaps.

The Redhat distros for webmin don not compile right. Uninstall webmin rpm package.

Go to http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/w...0-1.noarch.rpm

and download the new package to /root.

Open your terminal as root and then use the following command :
rpm -U webmin-1.100-1.noarch.rpm

I also have problems with webmin being slow, I think it has to do with SSL, but I'm honestly not sure. I didn't even install webmin with Mandrake 9.1, but downloaded a later RPM. Still is slow, which it should (in theory) be VERY fast, especially since it's on the network.

Mine is very sloooooow too.

The new webmin skin has extremely heavy graphic weight. Changing the skin back to the old one will help.
