Samba config query
Can I set up Samba so that it uses the Windows client name to access the share instead of using a name & password?

you sure you wanna do that.. makes for some pretty rough insecurity if you do that..

a person can just change they pc's hostname and gain access to the shares..

why not use it with windows usernames / passwords.. you should not even get a password prompt when connecting to shares that way.

Sounds good, can you point me to a site that will help me set this up.

I have set up my shares using webmin, so advice using webmin would be perfect.

Thanks
Trev.

IBM has made a great tutorial for using samba as a PDC look at what they have done for some good ideas...
