Question about Linux software.
I am transitioning into Linux, since i am new to it. I am using Red Hat 9, and was wondering if anyone can give me any info on which IRC, and news server software to use. The ones that have turned up the best reviews and scores on some websites are Get Bin News(www.getbinnews.com) for news server, and BitchX (www.bitchx.com) and Xchat (xchat.org) for IRC. Can anyone let me know if these r any good, an if a newcomer like myself would have any trouble with them, or suggest any other programs that might seem better.

It depends entirely on one's preference. The best web I would suggest is this:

Can't give you any specifics on IRC's - but a couple other sites which have info on software and downloads available are

www.sourceforge.net

linux.tucows.com

www.linuxapps.com

Hope this might be of some help
