Easy to learn??
My wife and I recently bought my parnets a new HP computer (as a birthday/xmas gift). I in turn inherted their old Dell. My question is, after I get some extra cash to do some minor upgrading to the Dell, how easy is it to learn Linux?? I am thinking about installing it on the Dell because the Del is probably just going to be a "learning type" of computer for me. One that I can play with without having the fear of completly screwing up something.

Or since I am using it as a "learning box" should I go with something different?? IF so, what??

Give Mandrake Linux a try. It's easy to install and supports a bunch of hardware.Redhat is also a good choice.
