linux .. how to
I recently downloaded shrike-i386-***.iso (all three disks) and they are peacefuly resting in my additional hard drive. In the partition B. (two equal size FAT32 partitions - partion A and partion B)
my question is,
how do I install linux, from partition B to partition A ?.

note that I am new to linux and partions are microsoft windows based.

Check out www.linuxiso.org and click on the links to the left under "Help with iso images". There's a wealth of information there.

Hope this helps.

You need to burn the ISO's to a Cd first. When you are finished burning the ISO, the cd will be bootable.

How do you create a bootflopy.?

trying to install using a Harddrive(without burning CD).

99% chance that you will end up having to burn the cd. The only way i can think of doing it without burning a cd (And excluding a net install, cause redhat doesnt do those) would be to somehow extract the image to a small dos partition, then point the installler to the cdrom.

And to creat a boot floppy you use rawrite or fdimage.

Having download errors is not at all uncommon (although many folks don't bother to check for them). It only takes one bit (literally!) to make a download less than perfect -- and unfortunately, there's no easy way to determine where the error might be -- and you aren't necessarily doing anything wrong (the internet is inherently unreliable). The only solution I know of is to try downloading again, until you get a perfect copy.

Hope this helps.

Good for you. Though, it might be advisable to upgrade all packages, just incase somthing vital has an interesting memory leak or somthing.
