Red Hat 9 FTP server how to
I installed red hat linux on my box. I am new to the command line.
I installed the ftp packages during the installation. Now I have no idea how to enable the ftp server. Can some one help me.

Do you recommend I use a third party app instead of the one that comes with redhat.
I don't mind the command line I actually want to learn as much as I can about the command line.

Thanks in advanced

You need to make sure that ftpd is running. Check here for a small amount of info (its near the bottom.)

I have also heard people reccomend <http://www.zabbo.net/hftpd/> hftpd, but i have no personal experiance. Try the mailing list.
