Slackware
I have a question about slackware. Is slackware as full of packagy goodness as debian, or is it more source oriented, with only the minimal amount of packages available. I'd like to know, because if somthing good doesnt happen to debian very soon, i may be switching to a distro that is less.. dated.

I dont mind source compiling, though it does take more amounts of time than i like to use.

Thanks. I have regained my sanity, and may opt instead to simply reinstall the entire system, and then go from there. There was a bunch of junk, so this will be good.

Next question: How to direct connect linux and WinXP to back up my home dir.

Damnit... and i'm going to have to get a crossover cable. Too bad there isnt a way to do the "crossing over" via software.
