# ramdisk = 0 # paranoia setting
# End LILO global section
# Linux bootable partition config begins
image = /boot/vmlinuz
root = /dev/hda6
label = Linux
read-only # Non-UMSDOS filesystems should be mounted read-only for checking
# Linux bootable partition config ends

other = /dev/hda1

of course but i feel very stupid with this....

i had my conf files named incorrectly....for some reason i had two conf files open...lilo.conf...and resolv.conf...and saved resolv.conf as lilo.conf by mistake...(redfaced)...

thank you so much for your reply...
