make sure you have a boot disk to boot the linux from your hard disk..
by using FDISK/mbr...you are not removing linux ...you only remove the boot loader that allows you to select either Linux or Windows...(ie Grub or Lilo)....
but whether you dual boot or not should not make difference is net connectivity provided you are set up correctly on either of the systems....
