Exclamation MicroSoft Internet Sharing Application for Linux
hello all,

i have installed fedora box, i m client on a cablenetwork (LAN) my server from where i m connected through a non-managable switch is on WIN2k Advance server useing microsoft Internet Shareing Application (ISA), for clients we have to install ISA client on our O/s Microsoft based so that we can access SOCKS liek IRC, MSN etc, now i can't connect with IRC MSN on Fedora as there is no ISA client for Linux, kindly guide me on this i need to reolve this issue.

So, socks is not passing through? I'm not sure as to how one would change this, because i don't know how an MSISA works. If you can find out how it works (port redirection / http proxying / ....) we might be able to point you at the right app. A quick google search brings up this http://www.kalamazoolinux.org/mailar.../msg00086.html. Try sorting through that thread. It reads similar to your query.

Yeah Whiteskin you are right but the thing is that i also don't know how this MISA works.. which ports it opens... and how can i configure Linux as i am new in Linux... i have heard that there are some scripts that will open ports to run Socks on your system.. Thanks Whiteskin if you can help me further i m newbie ...

I thought you meant that your linux box was being blocked by MSISA... in that case you need to open the ports you need from the MS box. Linux's ports are all open usually, so its most likely not a linux problem.
