Back To The Beginning
Following playing about with Mandrake 9.2, I can no longer view .pdf files, have no sound and now the mixer fails to boot, claiming no sound card is found (shows a FAILED on verbose boot).

Is there a way of getting it all back to how it was upon installation, or am I due a reinstall?

I don't want to lose my installed browsers or email, though rpms can be moved over to a shared fat32 partition if required, along with an export of my emails & settings.

Thanks.

Do you know what(if anything) you have changed (Eg installed a new kernel, upgraded certain packages).

If you remember what pdf viewer you used try opening a pdf from the command line (with something along the lines of "xpdf TEST.pdf"). That should give errors which will help us diagnose the problem.
