Printer Connection Problem
I have a partitioned system with XP and Red Hat 9 on my hard drive. I have a HP psc1210v connected to print with. Works fine on the windows side but when using the printer configuration tool on the linux side, there is not a choice for the psc1210v, there are several psc models listed but not the 1210v. I tried selecting the psc950 but all it tells me is that the media tray is empty. The other closest choice is the psc2100 I believe, although I did not try it. Anyone else have this problem and know of a model number I could select? Or is there any other way to get around this? I have looked on HPs website for drivers and there are none listed for a linux machine.
Thanks for your time and help.

This link may be helpful: http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_pr...um=HP-PSC_1210 -- not sure if the 1210 differs from the 1210v, since I'm not familiar with these particular devices. However, www.linuxprinting.org is always a great resource.

Hope this helps.

This is a USB - bus device (Printer & scanner).

Try to follow the link below Adam - see if it helps - we were dealing with a few days ago.

Printer Connection Problem
I think I was in a hurry (again, huh).
Performing a search (google/linux) found HP OfficeJet driver project (http://freshmeat.net/projects/hpoj/)

There you'll find a list to supported devices,
http://hpoj.sourceforge.net/suplist.shtml
which includes psc 1200

and for printing seems that DJ3320 (http://hpinkjet.sourceforge.net/) will solve your problem.
