This is in Suse 9
I have installed a modem and have managed to get it to dial and connect to both freeserve and NTL.
However, I can't get the browser to use the connection. I have Mozilla and Konqueror installed but neither will connect. I think it may be to do with DNS, but I am not sure.
I am a Linux newbie.

It works properly from root but not my user account? I have the account set to be a member of all groups.

what are the permissions on the browser and the connection to the net? you might need to change those, depending on what they are..

being a member of all groups isn't always the best thing for a normal user account -.-.

chmod and chgrp for those files if you need to change them. Its worth a shot at least. So so often its a simple chmod /chgrp setting that fixes the issues.
