Display problems with my Linux
I've been using RedHat Linux 9 together with my Windows 2000 and it worked quite well for me. I am new to this OS (RedHat) and I am into a lot of experimentation. Lately I had this problem regarding my desktop resolution when I tried changing it from 800 x 600 to 1024 x 768. The next time I logged in, my monitor turned blurred. Could anyone tell me please how I can I restore my previous setting. I am trying to work on the text mode but I dont know exactly where to start.

There is a file called /etc/X11/XF86Config (-4, if you're using Xfree v 4.0.0 or higher). There are your X modes described, but you hardware cannot use them. Try setting a lower resolution, for example just try with 800x600, and see if it works, and/or a lower bpp value.
For that of course, you should login in text mode.
