DHCP in Knoppix
I did a HD install of Knoppix v3.4. I run the 2.4.4 Kernel (because 2.6.x doesn't support my wireless card... yet). In order to get my PCMCIA wireless card working on the DHCP of my router I type pump -i ath0. Sometimes this doesn't work, it returns "Operation failed". But other times it works like a charm. If it fails, I have to restart my laptop in order to get it to work. Why is pump a hit or miss, or am I doing it wrong?

I run Knoppix too.

I got over the problem by using the browser to interrogate the router. Once log in with the router I can click connect and the INternet will fire up. Same procedure to do it in Windows or LInux. My version is 3.3 and I managed to load it into a HDD too. Haven't got a clue what kernel is bevause I started experiementing with it only last week as a beginner.

Have it run on both network wired and wireless PC too.
