nofb doesn't disable fb
When I pass the "nofb" option to the kernel (For some reason the FB driver in gentoo hates my computer), framebuffer is not actually disabled. It just takes longer to load.

Is there a way to ensuer that the FB driver NEVER loads?

Did you recompile your kernel and take out fb support?

No, I just assumed that nofb would boot the computer without loading the FB code. Obviously this is not the case.
