What distribution are you using? Those chips are generally supported in most of the Linux versions out there.
What have you tried to do? Need more info from you.

I have seen many posts about savage graphics not working well under linux so I have put off putting linux on this system until I have the proper drivers. I was going to install collegelinux which is slackware-based.
