Setting up a dsl connection
I have Mandrake 10 Official and i can't seem to figure out how to set up a dsl connection. (i'm a newb to linux). I have SBC and a speed stream modem. My computer is connected to the modem through a wireless router. (my computer is wired to it though through a hub. wire not long enough)

alright, you'll need to set up a ppp connection thru mandrakes command section. The auto will ask you questions and if you can answer them they should work fine. I believe that mandrake defaults to kde and there's a builtin kde ppp connector as well.

I use Mandrake 10 at home. After starting the pppoe connection, the default gateway remains unchanged. You need to set the default gw manually.
use "ifconfig ppp0" to check the ip addr and default gw provided by your isp.
If the default gw is 10.0.0.254 for example.
use "route add default gw 10.0.0.254" to set the default gw
