Does anyone know if there is a Linux driver for the WPC-54G wireless network card. I have been going nuts trying to get Mandrake to even recognize that I have a wireless card.
When I hooked all this stuff up to my wife's laptop (Windows XP), it was up and running in no time. But for my laptop, hours and hours have passed to no avail.
I looked at linksys.com but couldn't find drivers for any wireless cards. Could use some help. I am experienced with Windows but am still learning Linux.

Depends exactly which version of the WPC-54G it is, but you can usually get it working with http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net

Thanks, I will give it a try and see what happens. Evidentally, the G technology is fairly new so I am not sure if linux supports it.

Looks like Linksys is not supported. When my machine finds the card, it identifies it as a Broadcom chipset. According to the website that you referred to, this chipset is not supported since Broadcom will not provide the info. Broadcom supports Linux up to the 57XX chip but nothing beyond that. I am still open to suggestions, or I may have to find a new card.

It is a broadcom chipset, ndiswrapper supports quite a few broadcoms. Maybe not your particular one though.
