Question Solved: Acquiring a Linux OS?
I went to a mirror download site for "Knoppix" (sp?) which sounded like a good place for a ''newbie" to begin an acquaintance with Linux. However, a download would run 57 hours (!) on my non-enhanced modem connection. Is there some other way to acquire this CD?

You can order it, but there is a cost for the CD & shipping.

Or you could go to your magazine stand and find the curren issue of Linux User which as a version of SUSIE 9.1 that will run from the CD that comes with the magazine without installing and will allow you to play around with it much like Knoppix.
