Hi I recently installed proftpd on a red hat 9 box with apache php and mysql, my config file for PROFTPD is listed below,

I am using a mysql DB to authenticate, create and hold user accounts.

I have set the directive to jail users to there home directory but whenever you log in as one of those users from the SQL DB you are able to browse the whole file system .

Not very good security wise, any how I have read many documents telling you to add the comment as I have below in my config file but no matter what happens they still get free range to the file system? Does any one have any idea as to how to stop this from happening and make the file system more secure and unbrowsable in red hat 9?

Also is this just a limiting feature of PROFTPD as I have heard that PUREFTPD is more secure and resolves this very issue quite easily and quickly?
