c++ libraries in suse
Hey, I just installed suse 9.1 pro and I want to be able to write and compile c++ programs. Im wondering if the c++ libraries come installed in the default suse installation or if i have to get them from somewhere. Im using emacs to write my source code and i intend to use g++ to compile programs.

There is a file called glibc-devel. that it recommends i install but this says it contains the default C libraries. Are these the same as the c++ ones?

Oh... one last thing, whats the difference between gcc and g++ or are they the same thing?

Thanks,
NNP

Easy way to test: Go to your terminal and type in gcc, and g++.

If you get output, they are there.

If not you need to install them. Glibc is for more advanced programs (AFAIK), however it's needed for whatever you install from source.
