Talking complete linux newbian
as most of the regular people to this forum know i am new to linux, and to be honest its really got me confused! so basicaly what im after is a complete idiots guide to linux. is it worth getting some sort of a book? im not gonna buy one, ill get it from the local library. or are there any websites anyone can recomend? i cant find any that have realy basic info, i need info which is between "what is linux" and "linux from scratch". i need info about the file types linux uses and its equivilencies to windows. if i can adapt my knowledge from windows, just to get the basics so i feel comfrotable then ill be fine. thanx

I apologize for the links I posted going to microsoft. I have no idea how that happened and that was never my intention. I will try again:

linux links

Beginners Linux

Linux questions

Again I sincerely apologize, I too am just getting into linux and had no intention to direct people to microsoft.
