Well I just installed Mandrake 10.1 after playing around with my Knoppix live CD for a couple of days. I was wondering what I should do first?

I was also wondering what video drivers should I use? I have a XFX GeForce FX5200 and I was also wondering about the sound drivers. My motherboard is a CHaintech 7NJL6.

Also any other info would be nice. Thanks!

After you have downloaded NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6629-pkg1.run,
begin installation by exiting X, cd'ing into the directory containing
the downloaded file, and run:

sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6629-pkg1.run

The .run file is a self-extracting archive. When the .run file is
executed, it extracts the contents of the archive, and runs the contained
`nvidia-installer` utility, which will walk you through installation of
the NVIDIA driver.

The .run file accepts many commandline options. Here are a few of the
more common options:

If you're at the desktop, hit Ctrl-Alt-F2. This opens a new shell. Login as root and then type telinit 3

.....cd'ing into the directory containing
the downloaded file, and run:

Depending on where you downloaded the nvidia package to, you would type:

 cd  /home/insp3cta/NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6629-pkg1.run 

This is just an example; as I said, it depends on where you downloaded the nvidia stuff to.
