Unhappy mounting problem
recently i installed redhat linux 9.0 to my pc. my HDD got 2 partition :
c: is window 98se
d: for redhat 9.0

after i installed redhat 9.0 i tried to mount the the windows partition cos linux can't see window partition. The problem is when i try mount -t vfat /dev/hda4 /mnt/fat,-its show me a error that was wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on/dev/hda4, or too many mounted file systems (aren't u try to mount an extended partition, instead of some logical partition inside ?)

here my fdisk -ls detail:
device ...boot...start...end... blocks ... id...system
/dev/hda1...*...1... 624...5012248+ ... b...win95 fat32 (why is 95 ?)
/dev/hda2... ... 1... 637...104422+... 83... Linux
/dev/hda3... ... 1...678 ...329332+... 82... Linux swap
/dev/hda4... ... 1...1247 ...4570492+...f...win95 Ext'd (LBA)
/dev/hda5... ... 1...1247... 4570461...83... Linux

here my questions :
1.how to mount the hda after installed redhat 9.0. izzit my method correct anot?
2.if i delete those linux partitions , can i stil boot to my window ?

any help wil appreciate ...thank

Try mount hda1. Dunno about the fdsk thing though, but your windows partition should be on hda1.
