Automounting
How do I get Linux to auto-mount a partition? It's annoying to have to automount a certain partition everytime. It's a FAT32 partition. I'm thinking I need to change something in fstab, but everytime I try, and then reboot the machine, fstab gets reset.

Are you saving the file. Nothing should automatically overwrite or change your fstab file. You need root permissions to edit that file.

Code:
/dev/hda1 /mnt/windows vfat defaults 1 0

I save it as root, always. I'll try that out.

After you think you have saved it, print the file to your screen to make sure the changes were saved.
