Exclamation What UNIX?
Hi

I have Linux on my laptop (disk partition) for a while and I used it mostly to write math and run some applications (Maple, Singular, Gap).

I have got a UNIX box and want to use it as an experimental machine
to run programs and as UNIX server for my colleagues. I have heard about spyware and virus's concerning Linux.

What version of UNIX shall I use?

Any help for this novice would really come in handy.

thanks for reading

What do you mean by unix box? Do you have a Sun machine? If so, I think you can download some linux distributions for it or FreeBSD. You can also download Solaris 10 from Sun.

If its a regular intel/amd box, any distro of linux, any version of BSD, or Solaris 10 will be ok.
