Connecting to the 'net with Linux... ?_?
Heya, I've ah, successfully installed MandrakeLinux X on a decent-at-best eArmyU (IBM Thinkpad) laptop, and thusfar my attempts to set up a connection and run with it have ended in complete and total failure. In fact, I'm not even sure if my built-in broadband hole even works. (Couldn't hop on the net with Windoze XP either..) x_X;

Any step-by-step instructions would help immensely, I think.

Help?

maybe a good start would be to run 'lspci' and see what your ethernet card is. Be very very surprised if you have a thinkpad with an ethernet card that isnt supported in linux.
