Linspire 4.5
I recently picked up an older PIII 450Mhz machine and wanted to start my adventure into the world of Linux. I bought a copy of Linspire since it offered networking capabiliites and everything else I needed to get up and running. THe problem I am having is the machine which I am trying to install on has a floppy drive and a CDrom drive but I cannot choose to boot from the CDrom, only the floppy is marked in the bios for booting from.
I know i need to make a boot disk but i am not sure which kind since the machine has been wiped clean and doesn't have an OS anymore.
Any ideas?

Thats interesting, is the CD drive marked at all in the bios? I had a similiar experience in that the jumper on the back of my CD rom wasn't placed correctly - hence the bios wouldn't recognize it. If it's an old computer make sure it's set to master. If the CD does show in the bios as 2nd boot device try it any way.

It might also be worth flashing the BIOS, a lot of the updated BIOS allow for booting from cd-rom drive
