What compilation for old comp?
Hey i have an acer 166 MHz 96 meg ram comp that I would really like to set up as a file server on my network. Which version of linus should i use? I'm not to great with command line apps but I could probably get one to work if it wasnt incredibly hard. Thanks in advance for your help.

Any distro will work, the trick is not to put all the "bells and whistles" on it. Get a light-weight desktop envorment (like xfce) rather then Gnome or KDE.

You could try something like Damn Small Linux.... that's pretty light in terms of size (around 50Mb I think). It runs with fluxbox as the desktop environment rather that Gnome or KDE so it isn't overly taxing on older systems.
