Unhappy installing redhat 7.2 with windows xp
I get the following OOPS when installing REDHAT 7.2:

Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address 0003002

more code here.....

kernel panic! attempted to kill init.

then the computer locks up and i have to shut it off and back on again to get it to start.

I have WIN XP on my Pri HD. Here's a what type of system I'm running:

OS: WIN XP
CPU: AMP ATHLON 1600 (1.4GHZ)
HD: 1 WD 60GB
2. SEGATE 20GB
VIEDO: ATI RADEON 9600 256MB

Not really sure what's preventing the linuxs from installing. Any help would be
appreciated.

Any reason why you want to use and older version of Red Hat.

Taking a online course with a online college, they ship the Linux+ guide with CD redhat 7.2. Should i just skip it and download the latest version? Becuase I'm not having any luck with the 7.2 disk. Also what is the latest version?

That kind of depends. Red Hat made development split with their commercial product. My old tech school teaches using the commercial product but you can certainly use the Fedora Core if you want. The commercial version will cost your money. I still run Red Hat 9.

An open source version of RH's commercial software is available...
